Earlier this week, we had gone to watch a movie at the Ambience Mall (and as if the price wasn’t high enough, they have hiked the PVR Gold tickets to Rs. 750 a piece). Anyway, the movie was nice enough, but it all went downhill from there.
Personally I feel that Ambience Mall is the best one around in Gurgaon. It’s big, spacious, has a large variety of stores, has enough entertainment and food outlets, and is classy (which other mall has a BMW showroom in it?). I just got back from watching The Dark Knight. It was a late show which started at 11:30pm and since the movie was a long one, it ended at quarter past 2 am. The movie itself was fairly good and I recommend all batman fans to definitely check it out.

Do you live in Gurgaon and own a Honda car? Well, if yes then you know that it is a pain to get your car serviced as there is only one authorized service provider from Honda in Gurgaon: Ring Road Honda. Or this was the case till 2-3 months ago. I purchased my Civic from Ring Road Honda more than a year ago, and since then it has always been a pain to get servicing done because they are always so busy. You have to take appointments much in advance and then too, you are not assured of a timely service because they are so overbooked.

On the topic of healthcare, I thought I would compile a list of all the pharmacies/chemist shops that I know of in Gurgaon. Although, there are resources on the Internet that list these, they have either inaccurate information or are woefully incomplete.
To start of, I have a list of all 24 hour pharmacies below. If you know of any that are not in this list (or any in the list that are not 24 hours), then please leave a comment and I will update the list.
I think it will be an interesting project to map out all the pharmacies, and mark on the map which ones are 24 hours, which offer delivery services, maybe review them, etc. I will also add contact information and addresses for these pharmacies. I recently had to get my wife admitted to the Max Hospital in Gurgaon. Below is a review based on my experience of this facility. Overall, I am satisfied with the services, but there can be improvements. First a little bit about the facility itself. Max is a relatively large hospital with a large number of specialities and services. They have over 100 beds, 2 Operation Theatres and a 12 bed ICU (information courtesy Max Website); they also have a Emergency Response team.
By the looks of it, the hospital seems very modern and professionally managed. The staff at all desks are friendly and eager to help. It contains a 24 hour cafeteria and a 24 hour pharmacy (two things that I believe are a must for any decent hospital). It is located near Park Plaza hotel in Sushant Lok 1. Now I will talk about our experience.

Do you like art exhibitions, theatre, rock shows, musical performances, concerts, street plays, and good food? I at least enjoy the occasional outing along these lines, and one of the best (if not the only place) places in Gurgaon for this is called The Epicentre. It is nice little place located at the Apparel House in Sector 44.
One of the most obvious features of this place as soon as you enter it is the Amphitheater – which is where most of the events take place. It’s got plenty of seating space and a very nice backdrop of the Apparel house building. There are several events during a month that occur here regularly from Shenai Vadan to Guitar performances.

Yesterday, I went to watch a movie with some friends. And since PVR had finally launched Gold Class in Gurgaon, I decided to give it a try to see what all the hoopla is about. Before I say anything else, let me conclude that I wasn’t disappointed. But, that is rushing it. Let me recount the experience first. The PVR Gold Class is only available in the brand new PVR at the swanky Ambi Mall (next to the Toll Plaza). If you haven’t been to Ambi Mall, well, that is a topic for a different post all together. I say swanky, because it has some of the best brands selling their wares in it (including BMW, by the way). Anyway, I digress.
